Lever, Mary P. (O’Donahue)
Mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, dear friend, and neighbor, Mary died at the age of 95, on July 3 in Scarborough, ME following a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Lawrence and Methuen, Mary was married for more than 45 years to the late Harvey Lever. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence, Mass. and retired in 1976 after 20 years at Western Electric. Always active and wanting to help others, she worked as a home health aide and at McDonalds after retirement. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Lever, her son, William Lever, sister Ann Missett, and brothers Stephen O’Donohue and Jack Donahue. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Lever Beeley and her husband Roger of Scarborough, ME; son, Gary Lever and his wife Ginger of Salem, NH; daughter-in-law, Nancy Lever of North Andover, MA; brother Joe Donahue and his wife Marcelle of Methuen; and brother Chuck O’Donohue and his wife Carol of Methuen; and many nieces and nephews. Mary made everyone feel loved and special, but she took the greatest joy in her six grandchildren Rory Lever Waldinger, Ryan Lever, Stephanie Beeley, Katelyn Beeley, Casey Lever, and Collin Lever and five great-grand children Tyler, Landon, Sophia, Adrie, and Nate. She will be missed by her many friends at Manzi Park Garden Apartments and at “the Club” (McDonalds’s), and especially her dear friend Betty Purcell.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11:00AM in St. Monica Church in Methuen. A burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
