New Bedford-Jacinto DaCosta age 89 died Monday October 18, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Alvarina (Leal) Da Costa. He was the husband of the late Luciana Da Costa who died in 1989. Jacinto was the father of Maria do Carmo Martins of New Bedford, Natalia Soares of East Providence, RI. , Carlos Manuel Da Costa of Lisbon, Portugal, Durval Da Costa of Florida, and Manuel Jacinto Da Costa, CA. He was the brother of Eduardo Da Costa of Portugal. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
Mr. Da Costa was the son of the late Jacinto and Rusina Da Costa. Jacinto was born in São Miguel, Açores and moved here in 1980. In the Açores he was a fisherman.
Mr. Da Costa’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Thursday at 9 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 5-8 P.M.
