Obituary

Mr. Raymond J. Danahy, 73 of Lawrence, Massachusetts passed away on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

He was born on August 5th, 1936 in Manchester, NH to the late Cornelius F. and Mildred (Kellerer) Danahy. Raymond was educated in the St. Augustine's Grammar School and was a 1954 graduate of Central Catholic High School both in Lawrence. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Germany.

Raymond was a forman for Glennie's Dairy for many years and then owned and operated the Tower Hill Variety Store after the loss of his brother, Carl "Dingle" who passed in 1975. Raymond later worked as an Maintenance Supervisor for Wang and Gillette until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Lawrence Elks and a member of the Arlington Club also in Lawrence. Ray enjoyed his summer home in Wells Beach Maine. He was an avid sports fan, he loved the Sox, the Celtics and the Pats.

Sister: Barbara Trainor of Derry, NH

Deceased siblings: Bernard Danahy , Carl "Dingle" Danahy, Cornelius Michael Danahy, John "Jack" Danahy and Eva "Sis" Duffen and Mary Scheid.

As well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 5th, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Saint Augustine's Chapel, 128 Ames Street, Lawrence, MA.

Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Tewksbury, MA.
