Obituary

BEVERLY: Mary (Broas) LeComte, 78, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Seaview Retreat in Rowley with her family by her side, following a lengthy period of declining health. She was the wife of the late William H. LeComte who died in January of 1993.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Pauline (Martin) Broas. She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in New Jersey and Virginia Intermont College. Mary was raised in New Jersey and has resided in Beverly for many years.
A devoted homemaker in her early years, Mary then became a teacher’s aide and a permanent substitute teacher at Briscoe Middle School in Beverly for many fulfilling years.
She was the loving mother of Linda Chapman and her partner, Cindy Jacob of Colfax, CA, Kevin LeComte and his wife, Cherie of Beverly, Lori Fennessy and her husband, Terence of Bel Air, MD and Kelly LeComte and her partner, Sue Johnson of Amesbury; she was also the beloved grandmother of Richard Knowlton, Lindsay Chapman, Kaite Espinoza and her husband Joe, Emma Jacob, Amie LeComte, Brendan LeComte, Grace Fennessy, Liam Fennessy, Kelly Fennessy and Ethan Johnson-LeComte and great-grandmother of Morgan Knowlton; she was the dear sister of Pauline Jenkins Miller of Hilton Head, SC; and survived by many cherished nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. She was also predeceased by her son, William LeComte and two brothers, William and Robert Broas.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday in the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Friday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 4 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Seaview Retreat, 50 Mansion Drive, Rowley, MA 01969.
