Raffaelina Colaluca, age 74 of Medford, formerly of Somerville died Wednesday in the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford. She is the wife of the late Quintilio Colaluca.
Mrs. Colaluca was born in Italy, the daughter of the late Croce and Maria DeSantis. In earlier years she worked as a dress designer and had a small shop in Somerville. In addition to her work, she also loved to sew and was considered a wonderful cook. Her specialty was baking and her baked cookies and other fine pastries were well known. An avid shopper, she could often be found in downtown Boston, in the aisles of Filenes.
She is survived by two sisters, Regina Zafferano of Somerville, Bambina DeAcetis of Medford and her husband Pasquale, Dear aunt of Anthony Zafferano of Needham, Josephine Pires of Scituate, Lydia Ciccone of Melrose, Mary Bellia of Middleton, Anna Pons of Yarmouth and Diane Bachiri of Melrose. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 thru 5 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, Monday at 10:00 am. Burial will follow Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
