Gladys Driggers Woodard, 90, of Tifton died Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009, at Tifton's First Assembly of God. Rev. Eddie Hutcheson and Rev. O. L. Stokes will officiate with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Michael A. Sorensen, Skyler M. Sorensen, Pug Barfield, Michael Woodard, Timmy Woodard and Darrell Braswell will serve as pallbearers. Raymond Driggers, Larry Driggers, Ray Braswell, James Braswell, Billy Braswell and Gary Woodard will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 1, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Woodard was born on February 6, 1918 in Tift County and was the daughter of Henry F. Driggers and Alma Godbolt Driggers, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Woodard; one brother, Arthur Driggers; and two sisters, Paulene Barfield and Inez Braswell. She was a homemaker and a member of Tifton's First Assembly of God, where she served as the Sunday School secretary. She had lived in Tifton all of her life.
Mrs. Woodard is survived by her niece, Peggy Hatley, and her children, Micheale Johnson, Michael Sorensen and Margaret Sorensen.
