Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Barbara M. (Welsh) Jelley, age 77, a resident of Tewksbury for 37 years, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.
She was the wife of Robert F. Jelley, with whom she would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 19th.
Born in Boston on May 9, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (O’Halloran) Welsh.
Mrs. Jelley was raised in the Brighton area of Boston and attended Brighton schools.
She resided in Tewksbury since 1970 and was a communicant of St. William’s Church of Tewksbury and St. Dorothy’s Church of Wilmington.
According to her family, she enjoyed completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles and collecting Emmett Kelly clown figurines.
Mrs. Jelley dedicated her life to caring for her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Nancy Donahue and her husband Brian of Tewksbury and Barbara Ann Nordstrom and her husband Walter “Butch” of Dracut; two sons, David Jelley and his wife Michelle (Liberti) and Robert P. Jelley and his wife Michelle (Sughrue) all of Tewksbury; three grandchildren, Rebecca M., David “DJ” Jelley and Amanda L. Jelley all of Tewksbury; three sisters, Anna and Dorothy Welsh both of Brighton and Louise Ragno of East Boston; one brother, Joseph Welsh and his wife Jean of Natick.
Mrs. Jelley was the sister of the late Helen Lane and Robert and Buddy Welsh.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 25th, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Thursday, July 26th, at 9:30 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
