Francis K. “Frank” Royle, 61, of Mansfield died on Sunday July 23, 2006 at his home surrounded by the loving family. He was the beloved husband of Dianne (Borriello) Royle to whom he was wed to on September 20, 1970.
Born in Boston, MA on July 10, 1945 he was a dear son of the late John and Eileen (Flynn) Royle.
Frank was educated in Boston schools and was a graduate of Charlestown High School. He had most recently worked in the flooring department at Empire Home Services in Stoughton until leaving due to illness. He had formerly worked for many years as a Regional District Manager of Sales for the Whirlpool Corporation.
He had served in The Army National Guard. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. Frank was very active in Mansfield Little League. He served as a coach for 14 years and as an Umpire for 4 years. On July 10, his 61st birthday, The Mansfield Little League Otis St. Field number 1 was named the Frank Royle Field for his years of dedication.
An avid golfer, he enjoyed golfing trips to Myrtle Beach. He was a true Boston sports fan and enjoyed collecting sporting memorabilia. His other interests included photography and when his family was younger they enjoyed taking camping trips. He had lived in Mansfield for the past 33 years and was formerly of Jamaica Plain.
In addition to his beloved wife of over 35 years he is survived by his devoted children Christopher M. Royle of Boston, Jennifer L. Royle of New York City, New York and Kevin F. Royle of Attleboro. His dear brother and sister; John Royle and his wife Kathleen of Bridgewater and Eileen Sullivan of Sharon. His father- in- law Alfred Borriello of Mansfield. His brother-in-law Michael Borriello of Billerica. His nieces and nephew Colleen Royle-Lundin, Jack Royle and Maryjean Powell. Also survived by 8 great nieces and nephews.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday July 27th at 9:30 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday July 26th from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
