Russell John Tatro, age 51, of Methuen, Massachusetts, entered heaven June 1, 2006, at Lahey Clinic, Burlington, Massachusetts.

Russ was born in Ladysmith, WI, on July 31, 1954, to Kent and Rosalie (Sorensen) Tatro. He grew up in Bruce, WI, and moved to Madelia, MN where he graduated from Madelia High School in 1972. Russ earned a degree in Civil Technology from Mankato Area Vocational Technical Institute and later served in the Volunteers In Service To America (VISTA) Program in Cleveland, OH. He earned a BA in Recreation Administration from Kent State University and an MA in Public Administration from Cleveland State University, while teaching Physical Education in the Cleveland area.

Russ married Wendy Smith of Cleveland, OH on August 12, 1978 and together they attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK, graduating in 1985. Russ entered the ministry in 1985 and served in foreign missions first as a missionary to Guatemala, Liberia and Sierra Leone and later as director of Living Word Missions, located in Tulsa, OK and recently relocated to Massachusetts.

Russ’s role as International Director of Living Word Missions privileged him to travel extensively on six continents, impacting countless people through his preaching and leadership training.

Russ is survived by his wife Wendy; beloved daughters, Rebekah and Elisabeth; parents, Kent
and Rosalie Tatro of Madelia, MN; brothers Steve and Janet Tatro of Shakopee, MN and Mike and Deb Tatro of Madelia, MN; sisters, Sue and Bob Brand of Madelia, MN, Sandy Tatro of St. Peter, MN, and Sheri and Dean Klinkner of Howard Lake, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Doug and paternal and maternal grandparents.

Homegoing Service 11:00 AM, June 6, 2006, International Family Church, 99 Concord St., North Reading, MA.

Memorial Service 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 10, 2006, United Methodist Church, Madelia, MN.
