Shirley Wescott, 87, went to be with her Lord on Nov. 1, 2018. Formerly of Dunmore, Pa., she resided at Green Ridge Care Center, Scranton, Pa., and passed away at the center.
Born in Lackawanna County on Jan. 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda Thiel Wescott. She was the wife of Robert Wescott, who went to be with the Lord in 2003 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease, during which time Shirley took care of her husband. They were married for 54 years.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters, James, Robert, Helen, Jean, Betty, and her beloved twin brother, George.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Robert and his wife, Ann, Bridgewater, Va.; Sharon A and husband, David Smith, Shippensburg, Pa.; Martha A. Thomas, Woodruff, S.C.; Ruth A. and her husband, Harry Davies, Mountain Top, Pa.; Stephen P. and his wife, Ann Marie, Dickson city; and James M. and his wife, Cindy, Cross Junction, Va. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, Pa., with services by the Rev. Richard Miller, pastor of Covenant Reformed Church of Carbondale. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, Pa.
