Obituary

Mr. George “Truck” Carr, 60, beloved husband of Shannon Lord, entered into rest at Augusta University Medical Center on Monday, October 15, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:00 until service time. Burial will be private.

Truck was an extraordinary husband, father, and friend to all. His kindness and will to help others was known all around him. Truck enjoyed motorcycles, traveling, and most importantly spending time with “his girls”, family, and friends.He was a veteran of the United States Army- retiring after 20 years of service. After his retirement, he pursued a lifelong dream, working on motorcycles. Truck attended MMI and quickly became a master mechanic at Vic’s Harley Davidson of Augusta where he spent many years servicing and repairing the motorcycles of the CSRA. He will he remembered by the laughs and good advice he could always give to friends and family, and also the ability to never meet a stranger.

In addition to his wife, Shannon, he is survived by his daughters; Darian Mashaè Futral (Brett) and Payton Ansley Lord (Jesse), his brothers; Earl N. VanCampen and Eric D. VanCampen, a sister; Rebecca K. VanCampen and his mother in law; Loyce Manuel. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Megen Anne-Marie Carr and his mother Carol Anne Bonham.
