BEDFORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE: George Michalopoulos, MD, 56, of Bedford, New Hampshire, formerly of Wayland died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest on October 3, 2018.
He was born in Montreal, Canada on April 12, 1962 the son of Evangelia (Katsiponti) Michalopoulos of Framingham, formerly of Wayland and the late Nicholas Michalopoulos who died on June 18, 1987.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his brother Dino Michalopoulos of Framingham and Dino’s fiancé Lisa Swiech of Framingham.
George has been a resident of Bedford, New Hampshire for 20 years and spent his formative years in Wayland. He graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1980, received his undergraduate degree from Lake Forest College in Illinois with the Class of 1984 and his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester with the Class of 1988. He excelled in his studies and received many academic accolades. George was an Anesthesiologist at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, New Hampshire for over 25 years and has been associated with Elliot Hospital for the past seven months as an Anesthesiologist.
George loved fishing and boating and time spent on the ocean. He enjoyed music and working on his cars as a hobby. He will be fondly remembered and loved by all who knew him in his lifetime.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am followed by his funeral services at 10:00 am at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown Street, Weston, MA.
Interment will follow in the Michalopoulos family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
