David George Meade
WAYLAND: David George Meade, 85, died peacefully and comfortably on Monday, October 1, 2018 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Waltham on November 8, 1932 the son of the late George L. Meade and Mary J. (Gately) Meade.
David is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Susan (Fryer) Meade of Wayland.
He was the father of David G. Meade, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Burlington; Phillip Meade and his wife Gayla of Billerica; Edward Meade of Derry, N.H.; Susan Errington-Wood of Perth, Australia and Jeremy A. Meade and his wife Danielle of Wayland. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Meade of Ft. Myers, FL and eight grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Richard Meade.
David has been a resident of Wayland for 40 years and spent his earlier years in Waltham. He served his country proudly with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He received his BS in Chemistry from Tufts University and his Masters Degree in Metallurgy from MIT. David was the President and Owner of Meade Foundry in Bedford. He was an avid golfer and a former member of the Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Wayland.
Private family services and interment will be held at Beersheba Memorial Park in Sharon.
In lieu of flowers, his family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in David’s memory be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
