Larry Gene Smith, 72, of Noblesville died June 12, 2018 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville after an extended illness.
He was born September 7, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Lawrence and Essie (Stepp) Smith. He served in the United States Army.
Larry was an insurance agent for more than 25 years before retiring in 2015. He attended Maple Grove Church of God while living in Anderson. He was a good man who made his peace with God. He was proud and fought for what he believed in and provided for his family. He could be stern, but also kind and gentle. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverwalk Village for their special care of Larry during his stay.
He is survived by his daughter, Shonda Renee Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; stepdaughter, Tara (Terrill) Appleby of Indianapolis; stepson- David (Paula) Shaw of Alexandria; two step-granddaughters, Chandler Appleby and Rachel Shaw; sister-in-law, Beth (Duane) Pickard of Noblesville; brother-in-law Steve (Jan) Robinett of Lafayette; special friends, Steve and Karen Napier.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mona "Janie" (Robinett) Smith.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Steve DeLisle of Maple Grove Church of God officiating.
Burial will follow in Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Maple Grove Church of God.
