Opal Huckaby McCain
6/2/2018

Opal Huckaby McCain, age 91, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was born February 27, 1927 to Egbert and Mattie Trammel Huckaby in Lafayette County, MS. Opal lived in Water Valley for the past fifty one years, making her home on her beloved Market Street where she and her late husband, Floyd McCain were active in welcoming new neighbors and seeing friends off when they moved away. She was a member of Tula Baptist Church and worked as a utility operator for Big Yank Corporation until she retired in 1991. Opal celebrated life each day with humor and welcomed anyone entering her home as a friend. Her hobbies were cooking, sewing, gardening, cultivating friendships, and giving the best advice ever! Opal loved talking on the phone, using it to keep her family connected by talking to each one daily and keeping them abreast of what the others were doing. She was truly the hands of Jesus as she cared for and ministered to family, friends and anyone in need.

Services are planned for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. David Freeman officiating.
