Elizabeth H. (Worthen) Thayer
WAYLAND: Elizabeth H. (Worthen) Thayer, 92, died on May 26, 2018 following a brief illness.
She was born in Burlington, Vermont on July 29, 1925 the daughter of the late Edward A. Worthen and Lyda B. (Bundy) Worthen.
She was the wife of the late Myles S. Thayer. Betty is survived by her children: Susan E. Grady and her husband Jeremiah Grady of Hopedale; Debra L. Danforth of Millis; Albert E. Thayer of Framingham and David M. Thayer and his wife Heidi Thayer of Framingham. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Sister of David J. Stanton of Youngstown, NY and the late Lorraine Griswold and Donald E. Worthen.
Betty moved to Wayland from Vermont as a young child and has been a longtime resident of Wayland. She was educated in the Wayland Schools and attended Wayland High School. For many years, she has been a member of both the Wayland Senior Citizens and Sudbury Senior Citizens. She loved to exercise and walk and, up until last week, still enjoyed the exercise classes at the Senior Centers. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, and especially loved to do yardwork at her Wayland residence. She will be fondly loved and missed by her family and friends whom she center her life around.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Wayland,
Private family services will be held at the Worthen family lot in Lakeview Cemetery, Wayland.
