WESTON: Gertrude (Swim) Gibson died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her loving family on April 26, 2018, just a few months shy of her 100th birthday,
She was born in Doaktown, New Brunswick, Canada the daughter of the late H. Earle Swim and Jenny (Achilles) Swim.
Gertrude was the beloved wife of the late J. Ernest Gibson who died on June 21, 1985.
She was the loving mother of Pamela Perez and her husband Henry Perez of Hot Springs, AR and Lisa Johnson and her husband Russell Johnson, Sr. of Weston. Cherished grandmother of Russell Johnson, Jr and Justin Johnson and great-grandmother to Jordyn. Also survived by her niece Jane and nephews, Franklin and Bobby. She was the sister of the late Roy Grynkewicz.
Gertrude has been a resident of Weston for over 63 years and active in the Weston community and at the Congregational Church of Weston, UCC. She had a long and dedicated career as a Registered Nurse always caring for others.
Private family interment was held at Linwood Cemetery.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Congregational Church of Weston, UCC.
