Howard Shirley True, Jr., age 82, passed away March 20, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born to the late Lucy Turner True and Howard S. True, Sr. in Water Valley, MS and served as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps. He was awarded a Silver Star Medal during his military service and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Organization, the American Legion, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4100 in Water Valley. Howard was a retired butcher, and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a member of First Christian Church of Water Valley.
Services are planned for Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Holt officiating. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Howard is survived by his daughter, Pam Nichols and her husband, David of Water Valley, MS. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Nichols True; four brothers, Harold True, Stanley True, Robert True, and Hilton True; two sisters, Mildred Gore and Brenda Keen; and a beloved dog, Toby. | ||||
