Obituary

William Douglas Carter, 99, died Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Nazareth Home.
Mr. Carter was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia and moved to Kentucky at the age of ten. He retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. as Assistant Treasurer after 34 years of service.
He was owner of Ken Bowl and Dixie Bowl Lanes; Past President of Administration Management Society; member of Greater Louisville Bowling Association Hall of Fame; member of South Park Country Club; Kentucky Colonel; and a member of Resurrection Episcopal Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Thelma S. Carter; son, Robert Sears Carter; brother George D. Carter Jr.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Michaelyn Carter; three grandchildren, Bill Carter, Jessica Padgett (Kenneth) and Rob Carter (Tammy); his five great grandsons, Bradlee, Brent, Brandon Padgett and Christopher and Matthew Carter. He will be remembered by his many friends.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway; with burial in Resthaven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday at 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
