Obituary

“Patricia Jameson Shaw”, Mom, Granny, GG, friend, mentor and prayer warrior, moved to the room Christ prepared for her on February 24 at 4:19 PM. Pat persevered to the end, unwavering in her faith and has undoubtedly heard by now, “Well done good and faithful servant”.Born on January 29, 1927 to Robert and Anna B. Jameson, she lived in Missouri and Louisville in her young years. Pat graduated from Louisville Girls High School and the University of Louisville. She attended Oakdale Methodist Church and accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age. It was there that she met the love of her life, Milton, with whom she would live a “storybook marriage” for 59 years until he died on July 21, 2010, on the day and time of their wedding. Pat was the first in her family to graduate from college. She taught first grade for 7 years before becoming a full time, stay at home Mom to Annette Shaw Darnell and David Shaw. She returned to college at Spalding in 1972 and earned her masters degree in Library Science. She then opened the library at Highview Baptist School where she worked for 17 years. Pat was an active member of Mt. Holly UMC where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She served the Louisville Emmaus and REC Communities and met faithfully with her Sisters Reunion group weekly. She was a 50+ year member of the PRP Homemakers with perfect attendance for most of those years. Milton teased her saying he hoped he didn’t die on the second Wednesday of the month.Besides her parents and Milton, Pat was preceded in death by her granddaughter Kelli Shaw. Pat leaves behind, for now, her children Annette Darnell (Alvin) and Dave Shaw (Karen), grandchildren, Tony Darnell (Amanda), Matthew Darnell and David M. Shaw, along with great grands, Jacob, Kayla and Jaden, Carter, Waylon, Wyatt, Brody and Duke, Sierra and Jordan. She also leaves behind hundreds of friends and strangers whose lives she touched. A celebration of her life will be on Saturday, March 10 at Mt. Holly UMC in Fairdale with visitation from 2 – 3 and the service from 3 – 4. In honoring Pat’s love of ice cream, a sundae bar will follow and everyone is invited. In Lieu of flower donations can be made to her church or Hosparus of Louisville.
