NATICK: Doris Marie (Bouchard) Colton, 87, died peacefully and comfortably on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
She was born in Baker Brook, New Brunswick, Canada on June 5 1930 the daughter of the late Levite and Laura (Daigle) Bouchard.
Doris was the loving wife of the late Harry E. Colton who died on April 16, 1986.
She was the devoted mother of Ann Blasotto of Ashland; Michael Colton of Birmingham, AL; Nancy Chappelle of Natick and Mark Colton of Natick. Cherished grandmother of Joseph and Samantha of Ashland and Zoe of Scottsboro, AL. Sister of Armand Bouchard of Edmundston, N.B., Canada and the late Roger and Jean-Paul Bouchard; Sylvaine Chasse; Jacqueline Leger and Mariette Lupien. Sister-in-law of Andre Lupien and Pauline Bouchard of Canada. Also several nieces and nephews.
Doris spent her formative years in Canada where she was educated and received her BS in Education. She taught English for several years in Canada before she emigrated to the United States in 1957 and has resided in Natick for over 60 years.
She loved to garden at her home and was an avid reader. She will be fondly remembered and loved by her family.
Visitations will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:15 am followed by a Prayer Service at 11:30 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road, (Off Rte. 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Colton family lot in St. Zepherin Cemetery, Bent Avenue, Cochituate Village, Wayland.
