New Bedford – Sofie Marie (Policarpo) DeMello, age 72 of Dartmouth, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph DeMello and the daughter of the late Rose (Roia) and Tabias Policarpo.
She was born in St. Michael, Azores and had worked as a bank teller for St. Anne’s Credit Union.
She is survived by her sons, Michael DeMello and Joseph DeMello; her daughters, Susan DeMello Rezendes, Jacqueline DeMello and Lisa DeMello; several grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Stephen Policarpo.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her visiting hours on Friday morning from 8:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home with a service to begin at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
