Larry Lee Smith, age 63, passed away October 17, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Born on June 23, 1954 in Memphis, TN, he was a son of the late Lila Faye Simpson Smith and Robert Lee Smith. Larry worked many years for Georgia Pacific and was a member of Anchor Baptist Church. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and had a passion for cars and good music.
A visitation is planned for Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Graveside services will be in Browning Cemetery in Lafayette County on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Charles Lipe officiating. Pallbearers will be Kenny Chrestman, Howard Thweatt, Phil Rikard, Paul Luker, Ronnie Smith, and Ricky Murphree. Larry is survived by his wife, Phyllis Smith of Oxford, MS; two daughters, Brandee Smith (Drew Wheeler) of Tupelo, MS and Kady Smith of Oxford, MS; two sons, Derek Hunter (Morgan) and Dustin Cody Hunter, both of Oxford, MS; two sisters, Brenda Gossett (William) and Barbara Palmertree, both of Water Valley, MS; and four grandchildren, Avery, Tatum, Kylie, and Ada. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Smith. | ||||
