Ryan G. Toczko, 28, of Derry, NH, died from natural causes on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. He was surrounded by his loving family as he was taken into the arms of God. Ryan was born in Springfield, MA in February of 1989. He was the son of Gregory Toczko, Moultonboro, NH, Diane (St.Cyr) Gill and John Gill Jr. Derry, NH.
Ryan was a 2007 graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, New Hampshire, and attended Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, MA. Ryan was a former member of the New Hampshire Army National Guard and served a combat tour in Afghanistan under the 86th Mountain Infantry Brigade Combat Team in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He worked as a carpentry specialist for several general contractors in the southern New Hampshire area.
Ryan was a Roman Catholic and attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Derry, NH. He was an avid snowboarder, passionate brewer, innate gardener, chef, history buff, and animal lover. Ryan also enjoyed riding his motorcycle throughout the state of New Hampshire. He was devoted to family, friends, and country.
Ryan is predeceased by his grandmother Theodora (Gronski) St. Cyr, and grandfathers Robert St. Cyr and Alexander Toczko. He is survived by his grandmother Mildred Toczko of Moultonboro, NH, his brother Christian A. Toczko of Arlington, VA, his sister Grace Gill of Derry, NH, and his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His family thanks the dedicated nurses, doctors, and family support team at Massachusetts General Hospital who provided world-class care to Ryan during his time of need.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, October 19th from 4pm to 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Home, 290 Mammoth Rd, Londonderry, NH. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH at 11:00am. His burial followed in the New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH at 1:30pm.
