Jeannette T. Rivet, age 85, passed away at Brigham’s & Womens Hospital in Boston surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 4, 2017. She was born on Aug. 5, 1932 to the late Alcide and Germaine (Arpin) Roy. Jeannette was a graduate of Cathedral class of 1950. She was a communicant of St Michaels Cathedral and former communicant of St Josephs in Springfield. She was a member of the Cercle Des Dames Francaises and also a Lay Eucharistic Minister. Jeannette was also the regional director of the National Federation of Catholic Girl Scouts. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Adams and Ruxton. She was predeceased by her loving husband Alfred L. Rivet who passed away in 1990. She was also predeceased by one daughter Carolene Henderson and one brother Paul Roy. She leaves four loving daughters Corinne Niznik and her husband Walter of East Longmeadow, Celeste Montessi and her husband Dominic of East Longmeadow, Charlotte Methe and her husband Norman of Barre, MA and Christina Atwater and her husband Stephen of East Longmeadow; one son Michael Rivet and his wife Carol of East Longmeadow and one son in law Neil Henderson of East Longmeadow; twelve grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Fri, Sept 8, 2017 at 9:45 AM from the Grise Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St Michaels Cathedral.
