BOYLSTON____Helen Mariner (Buzzell) Madore, 91, of Boylston, died in Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Plantation St., Worcester, MA. Her husband George Madore died in 1965. She is survived by her son John Madore of Washington D.C.; daughter Nancy Madore and her wife Christine Brazauskas; niece Alice Coggeshall. She is predeceased by a sister Calista Coggeshall. Born in Milford Maine a daughter of Robert and Hazel (Mariner) Buzzell, she moved to Boylston in 1954.
Mrs. Madore worked as a Teacher at the Shepard Knapp School in Boylston and a Physical Education Teacher at Tahanto Regional High School in Boylston for many years prior to retiring. She graduated from the University of Maine-Orono. Besides being an avid Red Sox fan, she was a patron of the opera. She was also very involved with the planning committees for First Night Worcester for several years and volunteered at Birdsacre in Maine, Tower Hill Botanical Gardens and the Ecotarium. She was a Trustee of the Boyslton Public Library.
Memorial calling hours will be Wednesday, august 9, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. concluding with a service of Remembrance.
