Rosemarie A. (Valerio) Deshaies, 77, of Auburn, passed away Wednesday, July 26th in UMass Memorial Hospital. Her husband of 59 years, John D. Deshaies Sr., died in April. She leaves three sons, John D. Deshaies, Jr. and his wife Christina of Auburn, Steven Deshaies of Southbridge, and Jeffrey P. Deshaies and his wife Brenda of Southbridge; three sisters, Lucy Garcia and her husband Russell of Worcester, Laura Portosa of Shrewsbury and Gloria Bisceglia of Leominster; her beloved granddaughter, Maura Rose Deshaies; and a host of nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Benny Valerio.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Pasquale and Josephine (Abatantuono) Valerio and lived here all her life. Mrs. Deshaies worked for the TJX Company quality control department for 28 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking wonderful meals for her family, baking, and reading a good book. Rosemarie enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summer vacations at the beach, but her favorite times were holidays with her family and especially spending time with her beautiful granddaughter, Maura. Rosemarie was a beautiful person who will be greatly missed by all.
Relatives and friends may visit from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, July 30th in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Her funeral service will follow at 5:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery.
