Nancy A. Sperlinga, a Wilmington resident for many years formerly of Woburn, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side early Friday morning, July 21, 2017, following a short illness. She was 57 years of age. Nancy was the beloved and cherished wife of John P. Sperlinga together sharing 27 years of marriage. Born in Woburn she was the daughter of the late James and Florence (Heghlis) Griffin.

Nancy was raised and educated in Woburn where she was a 1977 graduate of Woburn High School. She was currently employed as a postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service and has been a dedicated employee since 1980. Nancy's main focus in life was her family to whom she was totally devoted. Nothing gave her more joy than caring for her family and sharing time together. They enjoyed traveling and Nancy especially enjoyed spending time on the beaches of Maine and Gloucester. She was happiest when she was with family and friends enjoying each others company. Nancy will fondly be remembered for her genuine compassion and kindness, love of people and her willingness to engage in conversation with anyone at any time. She was always reaching out to people whether they were coworkers, family, friends or total strangers. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her beloved husband, John, Nancy is survived by her devoted son Evan J. Sperlinga of Wilmington. She was the cherished sister of James Griffin and his wife Karen of Londonderry, NH, Lon Griffin and his wife Marianne of Natick. Loving aunt of Jessica and Autumn Griffin, Sara O'Neil, Lauren, Shannon and Jacqueline Donnellan. Sister-in-law of Cheryl Donnellan and her husband Jack of Arlington, Kay Brady and her husband Joe of VA, Mark Sperlinga and his companion Linda of Woburn.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Friday, July 28th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Nancy's memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02146-9795.
