Bertha Clinton Smith, age 63, died June 19, 2017 at Baptist Memorial East Hospital in Memphis, TN surrounded by her family. She was born in Water Valley, MS to the late Joe and Bessie Caldwell Clinton and married Lawrence Smith. Their only daughter, Na’Kisha Smith, preceded them in death, and Bertha raised her two grandsons as her own children. She worked in the Home Health industry, and enjoyed caring for people, cooking, and being a homemaker. She was an active and devoted member of Bayson Chapel Church.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Bayson Chapel Church, with services beginning at 12 Noon. Reverend Amos Sims will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Coffeeville City Cemetery. She is survived by two grandsons, Ranaldo Smith and De’Anthony Smith, both of Water Valley, MS; three sisters, Annie Clinton, Mary Clinton, and Dorothy Burgess, all of Chicago, IL; six brothers, Larry Clinton of Scobey, MS, Lloyd Clinton, Robert Clinton, Dewitt Clinton, J.C. Clinton, and Lewis Clinton, all of Chicago, IL; and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Smith, and her daughter, Na’Kisha Smith. | ||||
