“Emma” Shirley Anne Phaneuf, 84, of Worcester, beloved mother, and grandmother, died peacefully on the 10th of June, surrounded by her loving family.
She was predeceased by her mother, Helen (Maloney) Phaneuf and her father Edgar Phaneuf. She leaves her son Stephen and his wife Denise, two grandchildren, Michael and Kassandra Phaneuf, and one great grandchild, Adam Phaneuf, all of Paxton and many very special extended family members.
Shirley worked for Verizon for many years until retirement. She enjoyed special Sunday dinners with her family, watching the Red Sox and NE Patriots (she maintains Tom Brady is innocent), and spending time with her little dog Pierre, who brought her much joy.
Shirley’s family asks that you take a walk on the beach and remember Shirley, spend time with your loved ones, and make a toast with Bailey’s Irish Cream to enduring friendship, lifelong and beyond. That is what Emma Shirley would wish for you. Shirley’s favorite song is You Light Up My Life; play it and think of her. She loved each of you dearly.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, June 14th from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Her funeral will follow with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street.
