SPENCER: Karl W. Doane, III, 50, died Saturday June 3 in his home after a four year battle with colon cancer. He leaves his wife of 28 years Pamela J. (Krumsiek) Doane, a son Karl W. Doane, IV of Spencer, a daughter Hayley B. Doane of Spencer, his mother Shirley D. (Desautels) Doane of Rochdale, three brothers; Dennis Doane and his wife Diane of Snellville, GA, Kenneth Doane of Thompson, CT, Peter Doane and his wife Karla of Rochdale, two sisters; Robbin Seymour of Spencer and Heidi Gambaccini and her husband Robert of Oxford and several nieces and nephews.
Karl was born in Worcester, son of Karl W. Doane, Jr. He was a computer programmer at PC Connections. He enjoyed Geocaching and hiking. He was an avid New England sports fan. Karl really enjoyed attending numerous Patriots games and fishing with his son He enjoyed taking many trips with his family to Disney World, including one this past April.
His family would like to thank Dr. Switzer and the UMASS cancer center staff especially Tina Henry RN for over four years of wonderful care. They would also like to thank the 6 ICU staff especially Nurse Carol for their compassionate care during a very difficult time.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 7 at 10:00 AM in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2 Airport Drive, Worcester. Private burial will follow in Greenville Baptist Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 PM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester.
