Worcester
Attorney Vartkis Paghigian, 98, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Worcester.
Attorney Paghigian practiced law in Worcester for over 50 years, before retiring.
He leaves his sister, Lucy Paghigian of Worcester, nephews and nieces, including; Richard Pahigian and his wife Catherine of Charlton and a grand nephew, Jamie Pahigian of Providence, Rhode Island.
Vartkis was born in Armavir, Armenia son of the late Manoog and Nazlou (Minasian) Paghigian and lived in Worcester most of his life. He was predeceased by a brother, Simon N. Paghigian who died in 2008.
Vartkis served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, during WWII, and saw action in Normandy , Northern France and Ardennes and was discharged as a Corporal. He then went on under the G.I. bill to earn a law degree from
Boston University.
He was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Auburn Elks.
There are no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11 AM at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster St., in Worcester.
