Obituary

Auburn- Ethel L. (Mansfield) Girardin, 74, a longtime Auburn resident, died in her home on Friday, May 19th.
Mrs. Girardin was married to the late Arthur H. Girardin who died in 1999. She is survived by a son, William H. Girardin of Auburn; 3 daughters, Grace Healy of Rochdale, Maryann Pease of Hardwick and Lori Rao of North Oxford; a sister, Irene Dufresne of Worcester; 7 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Ethel was born in Portland, Maine daughter of the late Merle and Alice (Page) Mansfield and is also predeceased by a son, Merle Harmon who died in 2013 and two brothers, Arthur J. and Laurence C. Mansfield.
Mrs. Girardin worked for many years as a clerk at the former Fair and Ames Department Stores before working at BJ’s Wholesale Club in bakery department as a cake decorator. She enjoyed many crafts, especially crocheting and embroidering. Ethel also enjoyed this time of year as she would start to tend to her gardens.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 24 at 11 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with burial to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 23 from 6 to 8 in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Ethel may be made to American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701.
