Obituary

Sheila J. Paige, 79, of Worcester passed away peacefully in her home, Monday, April 10th , after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She leaves a sister Cynthia B. Fischer and husband Ernst of Hudson, NC, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Lois Fahnestock of Auburn and Martina J. Roberts of Melbourne, FL.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Harold E. and Dorothy B. (Smith) Weeks and graduated from the David Hale Fanning Girls Trade School. Sheila worked for AT&T for 32 years as a telephone operator, retiring in 1988. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church and its Women’s Guild, the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Worcester Police Citizen Academy, St. Andrew’s Crime Watch. Sheila was an avid knitter supplying hats to the neonatal units of area hospitals. Her greatest joy was spending every holiday with her nephew Jim and wife Mary (Hosegood) Perreira’s family and she would never show up without one of her famous apple pies.
Her funeral is Saturday, May 6th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be a private.
