Obituary

Raymond F. Sullivan, 92, died Wednesday, April 6 at Odd Fellows Home, in Worcester.

Raymond was born in Worcester, the son of Edith (Dahlquist)Sullivan and Frank Sullivan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Martha Luann (Vickers); daughter Deborah A. Sullivan of Maine; son Paul F. Sullivan of Worcester; grandsons Christopher, Jeremy, Jarrod and Ian Standring; great grandchildren Alexis Ann Marie, Colvin Michael, Cody Joseph and Aileen Rose Standring, his devoted dog Lady Lexi, nephews and nieces and several furry grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers. Ray will be sorely missed and will be remembered by his family with much love and laughter.

Raymond was a veteran of World War II, serving for four years in the Army Air Corps with action in the CBI theatre of operations.

He graduated from the former Commerce High School, Worcester Junior College and WPI School of Industrial Management. Upon his graduation from Worcester Junior College he began his career in purchasing at Riley Stoker Corp. where he was employed for many years and then as purchasing agent at Wheelabrator Millbury until his retirement.

For 28 years, Raymond was a member of the Matthew John Whittall Masonic Lodge. He was a long time communicant of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church where he served as layreader, usher, vestry person and member of the choir.

Ray enjoyed reading, finances, walking the family dog and in his younger years was a member of St. Michael's bowling league, played volleyball at the YMCA and attempted golf. Ray was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Ray was a devoted and supportive family man, spending his life surrounded by his loving and adoring family. Ray had many friends and was well respected in both his personal and professional life.

In lieu of flowers and in appreciation for the loving care Ray received during his two years residency, donations may be made to Odd Fellows Home, 104 Randolph Road, Worcester, MA. 01606 or to the Music Fund of St. Michael’s-on-the-Heights, 340 Burncoat Street, Worcester, MA. 01606.

At a time to be announced there will be a Memorial Service for Raymond at St. Michael’s.
