RUTLAND: Minnie L. “Midge” (Plyer) Christian 74,
passed away, Tues. March 28 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her first husband Francis E. Christian in 1981, and her second John Spears in 2006. She is survived by her two sons, Craig E. Christian and his wife Debra of Weeki Wachee, FL and Kevin F. Christian and his wife Sandra of
Rutland with whom she lived with, two daughters; Donna J. Prouty and her husband Jed of Spencer, and Sandra J. Christian of East Brookfield, 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, she was predeceased by a sister
Addie Lou Hosack. Born in Conway SC., Midge was the daughter of Archie P. and Dorothy Mae (Ard) Plyer. Before moving to Rutland, she lived in East Brookfield for many years.
Midge was proud of her southern roots and loved to share memories of her childhood with her family and friends. Family gatherings were a special time for Midge always making her famous potato salad. Traveling, gardening and listening to country music were a few of her favorite things, as well as shopping with her daughter Sandra. Midge was loved by all and will be missed by many.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 1st. in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Rte. 9, Spencer at 11a.m. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 72 Cambridge St., Worcester, Ma. 01603.
