Obituary

Boylston, MA - Bernice A. (Wheeler) Scally, 96, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center. Her late husband, John W. Scally, died in 1974. She is survived by two sons, Douglas Scally of Northborough and Norman Scally of Tampa, FL; two daughters, Jean MacLeod of Manassas, VA and Barbara Bayne of Worcester; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Betty Childs of Millbury and Mildred Wheeler of Florida; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Bernice was born in Worcester, daughter of Bessie (Andrews) and George Wheeler and was a graduate of North High. She was the head cook and manager of the Town of Boylston's elementary schools. Bernice was a member of Covenant-St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Worcester.

Funeral services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Friday, March 31st. Calling hours will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Burial at a later date will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Covenant-St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 24 Hamilton Street, MA 01604.
