Craig C. Marquis, Sr. 73, of Beverly, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Janice M. (Hincman) Marquis.

Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Jane F. (Piecewicz) Marquis. Craig was a graduate of St. Mary’s School in Beverly and Beverly Vocational High School. He was one of the finest cabinet makers on the North Shore. He took his craftsmanship to the former Naumkeag Lumber Co. and later to the Jules Gourdeau Architectural Design Company, where he worked for decades before retiring.

Craig had an incredible zest for life and adventure. He was a very funny guy with a dry sense of humor. Who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at Lake Ossipee. He loved nature, birds and wildlife. Craig also loved fast cars and was an active member of the North Shore Corvette Club. He was a member of the Danvers Fish & Game Club where he was an indoor range officer and was a NRA Certified Handgun Instructor. Among his many interests, he was an avid golfer (especially with his brothers), travelling, skydiving, boating, scuba diving and dancing to the ‘Oldies’. He was an amazing friend who touched so many lives and will be missed by so many people.

Craig is survived by his son, Craig C. Marquis, Jr. and his wife Jude of Epping, NH, his brothers, Mike Marquis and his wife Anne of Newburyport, Bob Marquis and his wife Ann of Essex, grandchildren Kelsea & Erika Marquis and great-grandchildren Jaelynn & Mia. He also leaves two brothers-in-law, A. John Hincman, Jr. and his wife Susan of Danvers, Charles Hincman and his wife Marlene of Salem, Sister-in-law, Cindy Hincman Bourgault of Salem, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long best friend, Jimmy Iwanicki. He was predeceased by his son Christopher Allen Marquis, mother & father in-law, Alexander J. and Pauline E. Hincman and brother-in-law, David F. Bourgault.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem from . His funeral service will be in the funeral home on Thursday, March 30th at 10:00 AM.
