WORCESTER: Edward R. Doyle, 71, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 6, 2017. He leaves his wife Ruth E. (Bylund) Doyle; two children, Justin E. Doyle of Lusby, MD, Hillary K. Doyle of Auburn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Edward J. and Catherine M. (Fitzpatrick) Doyle. His brother, James F. Doyle of Auburn, predeceased him.
Ed was a cook at Worcester State Hospital where he worked for more than 35 years until he retired. He was a member of the AFSCME union. He enjoyed following the New England sports teams and the occasional trip to the casinos.
A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10:30 A.M. on THURSDAY, MARCH 9 at ST. JOHN’S CHURCH, 40 Temple Street. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. There are no Calling Hours.
