Francis A. Hanc, Jr., 69. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, joining his father, Francis A. Hanc,Sr who predeceased him in 1997.
Francis graduated from Bartlett High School, after which love bloomed in botany class at Worcester State College where he met his future wife of 39 years, Barbara Jane Fuller.
A lover of history, he taught social studies and science at St. Louis School in Webster. He also worked at Monarch Spring and Wire in Oxford and had his own woodworking business, Codworks. He loved playing the accordion.
His passion included the history of WWII and the “Greatest Generation”. He had a love for the ocean and fishing in any form, freshwater, saltwater and ice fishing, which he enjoyed with his father and father-in-law.
Thankfully, he got to see the greatest Super Bowl ever as a rabid Patriots fan, and always cheered on the Red Sox.
He leaves behind his adoring wife Barbara Jane and their three cats, Smiggle, Percy and Jennie, his mother, Josephine Hanc of Webster; sister Joan Paharik and her husband Michael of Holden; sister Janice McKenzie and her husband David of Bennington, New Hampshire, niece Emma and nephew Andrew; brother David Hanc and his wife Donna, nephew Ryan and niece Jocelyn of Jefferson, ME; brothers-in-law Paul and Steven Fuller, and their wives Maureen and Barbara, and children Sarah, Stephanie, Nicole, Lindsey, and Nathan.
Calling Hours will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 4-6pm at the ROBERT J. MILLER FUNERAL and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St, Webster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 11AM at St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. in Webster(Kindly Meet at the Church).
Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph Garden of Peace in Webster.
