Obituary

Stanley (Young Fella) LaBak of Worcester, 96, passed away late in the evening on Thursday, February 23rd. Stanley was born in Chicopee, MA on August 8, 1921.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 63 years, Wanda, 3 sons, Robert and wife Diane, Richard and wife Lisa- all of Worcester, Ronald and his wife Leslie of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Matthew and wife Lauren, Kenneth and wife Nicole, Kristin Marie, Melissa and husband Justin Robinson, Adam and partner Stacee Hansen, Elizabeth and fiancé Nicholas Shaw.
Stanley proudly served his country in World War II and spent time in China, Burma / India before he was recruited to act in USO shows by Melvin Douglas, a famous director at the time.
Upon returning home, Stanley worked as a hair dresser at Denholm/McKay in Worcester before opening his own salon on Ward Street. He went on to spend many years at Heald Machine Company and finally retired from Astra Pharmaceutical.
Stanley lived life with enthusiasm and he spent most of his time entertaining both his family and the community. He loved movies, singing, painting, and especially magic.
More than anything, Stanley loved his family and was well loved in return. He was never happier than when he was surrounded by his wife, sons and grandchildren. He had a kind heart, infectious smile and will always be remembered that way by the people who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Stanley’s life will be held privately. The family would like to thank the staff at Odd Fellows Home for his exceptional care for the last two years. In lieu of flowers, they ask that memorial contributions be made to Odd Fellows Home, 104 Randolph Road, Worcester, MA, 01606. Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward Street is assisting the family.
