Obituary

Holden- Richard M. Mullahy, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Dodge Park Rest Home, Worcester.

He was born in Watertown, MA on March 26, 1940, a son of the late Michael and Sarah (Godwin) Mullahy. He attended local schools and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1957. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country. Richard attended Newbury Junior College where he received his Associates Degree. His 30 year career was spent with the United States Postal Service primarily in Hudson, MA until his retirement in 1995.

He was an avid golfer and was a former member of Royal Bedrock, Rutland, MA and Palisades Country Club, Clermont, FL. He was a member of Branch 12, NALC and the Hudson-Concord Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary P. (Reardon Conover) Mullahy; children: John Mullahy (Kelly) of Hudson; Kathleen Quinn (Thomas) of Bellingham, Karen Andrade (Tony) of Hudson; Scott Conover (Susan) of East Walpole and Leslie Conover of Norwood: a sister, Barbara Russell of Marlborough; a sister in law, Shirley Mullahy, of Watertown; and eight beloved grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Cheryl (Abatsis) Mullahy, his brother Michael Mullahy and his brother in law George Russell.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Mullahy family on Friday, March 3rd from 11:00am until 12:00pm at the FAY BROTHERS Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston, with a Funeral Service honoring his life to follow at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Forest Vale Cemetery, Hudson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Center, Boston, MA
