Obituary

Joseph A. Laskowski, 61, of Millbury, formerly of Worcester peacefully passed away on Thursday February 23, 2017 in his home with family by his side.
He leaves two sons, Joseph M. Laskowski and his wife Amanda of Belmont and Matthew M. Laskowski and his partner Jessica of Boston; his granddaughter Vivienne Virginia, his mother, Virginia M. (DeSavage) Laskowski of Worcester; his sister, Cheryl A. Parent and her husband Wayne of Worcester; his brother-in-law Kevin Elie of Thompson, CT., his former wife Theresa A. Detloff of Worcester and nieces, nephews and cousins. His father, A. Joseph Laskowski passed in 2012, his other sister, Virginia “Ginny” A. Elie passed in 2016. Joe was born and raised in Worcester and graduated from North High School in the Class of 1973. He has lived in Millbury since 1983.Joe worked as a rigger for several years at Industrial Transfer and Storage in Dudley. Before then he was a longtime diesel mechanic and a member of Teamsters Local 170. Joe enjoyed listening to music and playing the guitar. He also enjoyed cooking, motorcycle rides with friends and his days on the Cape with his family, especially the sunsets over the Bay. He loved spending time with his family particularly his granddaughter Vivi.
The funeral will be held on Monday February 27, 2017 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery will be private. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday February 26, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, 5526 West 13400 South, #510, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84096 or to a cancer foundation of your choice.
