Obituary

LEICESTER: Paul F. "Papa" Clemmey 83, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Feb.22 to join his loving wife, Lillian E. (Popham) Clemmey who died in 2009.
He leaves his son Charles E. Clemmey, Sr. and his wife Aida of Southbridge, his daughters Brenda A. Adams and her husband Donald of Leicester, Cindy L. Gately and her husband Michael of Spencer, Paula F. Clemmey-Kimball, and Charlene M. Cote and her husband Christopher all of Rochdale, two sisters Veronica Sloat of Charlton and Marilyn Longo of Oxford, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son Peter A. Clemmey in 2015, daughter Linda J. Barriere in 1991, a grandson Benjamin P. Adams,his brother Thomas E. Clemmey, Jr., and a sister Marjorie J. Brown.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Thomas E. and Mae (Brown) Clemmey, Sr., and later graduated from Worcester Boys trade School and Framingham State College.
He worked for many years for the Painters & Allied Trades Union DC 35 in Boston, retiring as business agent. He owned Papas Cars & More Wallpaper Co., in Rochdale. He was a painting & decorating teacher at Blackstone Regional Vocational Technical School.
He enjoyed family gatherings, working on his "Model A", playing bingo, camping, fishing and hunting.
The family would like to thank the staff of Notre Dame Hospice, for the compassionate care they gave Paul in his final days.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to Noon in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. A graveside service will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Notre Dame Hospice, 555 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605.
