Obituary

Marlborough - Jeannine A. Maillet, 83, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 19, 2017 from lung cancer. Throughout her illness, Jeannine never lost her positive attitude. Her feisty spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Jeannine was a dedicated daughter, mother and sister. She loved spending time with her family, especially her daughters and granddaughters (her “girls”), son-in-law and beloved siblings and their families.

Jeannine leaves her daughters, Elaine Lavelle and husband Tom, Clarks Green, PA, Susan Foley, Pittsburgh, PA and Patricia Foley, Harrisburg, PA; granddaughters Libby Marquardt, Philadelphia, PA and Tessa Marquardt, Los Angeles, CA; sisters Yvette Cove, South Yarmouth, MA, Carmen Dion and husband Richard, North Grafton, MA, Delma and husband Edward, Marlboro, MA, brother Donald and wife Lorraine, Millbury, MA; sister-in-law Judy Maillet, Auburn, MA; brother-in-law Veto Filipkowski, Millbury, MA and many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alban J. and Helena M. (Arseneault) Maillet, brothers George and Paul, sister Claudette Filipkowski, and brother-in-law Robert Cove.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tony Samaha, the wonderful staff at the Saint Vincent's Cancer and Wellness Center, the incredible caregivers at Marlboro Hills Health Center, and Hospice of Western and Central MA who helped make her final months of life comfortable.

Jeannine has donated her body for research at the UMass Medical School and will be buried with her parents at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester once the research has been completed.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, February 23 at 11 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive Auburn. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 in the church before the start of the mass.
