Obituary

Judith S. Tyrrell, 74, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 15, 2017, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Nashua, NH on January 23, 1943, a daughter of Anthony and Stella (Slosek) Monas. Judy graduated from Nashua High School in 1961. She married the love of her life Norman K. Tyrrell on July 13, 1963 and they moved to Londonderry. Judy was very hard working. She was employed by Benson’s Animal Farm in Hudson when they got a baby gorilla named Junior. She also worked for seven years at ServiceMaster, 27 years for Shaws Supermarket in Londonderry and finally retired from Goodwill Industries in 2015. She loved gardening, crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. Judy also enjoyed traveling with her sister Carol to places like Russia and the Bahamas, visiting her sister Kim in Georgia and going to Disney World with her kids and grandkids. Judy was loving, selfless, strong, and a great friend to many. She was also loyal, generous to a fault, had a big heart, and was a great role model. Judy also had a strong Catholic faith and attended St. Jude’s Parish in Londonderry. Being the oldest of eight children, what Judy loved most of all was her family. Family meant everything to her and she meant the world to all of them. She will be remembered as the rock her family could always count on.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Norman Tyrrell, her daughter, Deborah Pratt and her husband Dave, her son, David Tyrrell her beloved grandchildren, Tasha Przybyla and her husband Matthew, David Pratt Jr., and Lyndsay Pratt; great granddaughter, Emma; six siblings, Carol Monas, Steven Monas, Gary Tufts, Sundy Clark, Kitt Tufts, and Kim Rhodes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Alan Monas.

Following cremation, memorial calling hours were held on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 5 – 6:30pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry with a funeral service that begin at 6:30pm.
