Theresa C. Genest, 91, of Salem, NH, died Saturday February 11, 2017, in Ridgewood Center in Bedford, NH. She was born in Lawrence, MA on October 25, 1925, a daughter of the late Francois and Helene (Desbiens) Caron. She attended St Anne’s School in Lawrence, MA. Theresa worked as an assembler for Western Electric for many years, retiring in the mid to late 1970’s to stay home and care for her mother.
Members of her family include one brother, Gilbert Caron of VA, four nieces whom she was very close to and helped raise, the late Janine Winsper, Denise Cabana and her husband Glenn of NH, Julie Ann Sherman of SD, and Rachel Fagone of WA; as well as several more nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Genest in 2002 as well as 10 brothers and sisters, Charles, Louis, Leon, Joseph, Albert, Raymond and Wilfred Caron, Florence Caron, Germaine Robichaud and Julie Boisvert. Theresa’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Ridgewood Center for their kind and compassionate care during her stay.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 9:15-10:15am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00am in St. Matthew’s Parish, 2 Searles Road, Windham, NH. The burial will be in the spring on Monday April 10, 2017 at 10:00am in Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell Street, Methuen, MA.
