LEICESTER: Dorothy J. (Cherry) Dandro 92, of 1 Gleason Way, Leicester, died Monday, Feb. 13 at her daughter's home in Charlton.
She was the wife of Alfred W. Dandro who died in 2015. She leaves her daughters; Jane E. Ciras and her husband Tom of Charlton with whom she lived, Janet A. Lima and her partner Harold Auch of Leconto, FL., and Linda J. Dandro of Greenville, SC., her sons James W. Dandro and his wife Kathy of Kannapolis, NC., William L. Dandro and his wife Nancy of Port St. Lucie, FL., and Paul J. Dandro and his wife Beverly of New Park, PA., 14 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister Mary McCullough and brothers Robert & "Bud" Cherry.
Dot worked at Handipad Supply in Worcester for 20 years before retiring in the 1990's. She was an avid reader.
Born in Brooklyn, NY., she was the daughter of James and Ruth (Desmaris) Cherry.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Feb. 17 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m in St.Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Thursday, Feb. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Maryknoll Fathers, 55 Ryder Rd., Ossining, NY., 10562.
