James H. "Grumpy" Dunnell

James H. “Grumpy” Dunnell was born on April 11, 1939. He passed away on Wednesday, January 25th, 2017, surrounded by his loving and adoring family.
Grumpy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a long-time resident of Milton, Massachusetts, was best known for riding his red Schwinn bicycle around town, striking conversation with anyone who crossed his path, walking his dog Maxxine, and his immeasurable love for his family. James is survived by his adoring wife of 39 years, Constance Dunnell of Milton, MA. He is predeceased by his sister Linda Mason, and survived by his brother Rob Dunnell of N. Hampton, NH and Norman Dunnell of Provincetown, MA. He is also survived by his children Denice Mauro and her husband Domenic, of Medford, MA, John White of Hull, M, Wendy Spinney and her husband Robert of Middleborough, MA. Grumps is also survived by his grandchildren Amanda Marcotte and her fiancé Otto Kleber of Plymouth, MA., Rachel Conner and her husband Dustin of Hanson, MA, Nicholas Mauro of Medford, MA, and Morgan Benedetti of Hanson, MA. He is also survived by his great granddaughters, Abigail Kleber and Allison Deitner of Plymouth, MA. Although we are unsure of what we will ever do without him, we will try to follow his best advice: “We’ll Figure It Out”. Visiting hours will be held 4-8pm on Sunday 1/29/2017 at Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave, Milton, Ma. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday 1/30/2017. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Assn., P.O. Box 417005, Boston 02241- 7005.
