Obituary

Worcester: Audrey L. (Flagg) Starvaski, 76, beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a long illness on Friday, January 20, 2017.
Audrey leaves behind her loving husband of nearly 57 years, Raymond Starvaski, their four children; Peter Starvaski and his wife Merri of Shrewsbury, Pamela Roddy and her husband Robert of Shrewsbury, Andrew Starvaski of Clinton and Amy Cochis and her husband Andrew of Tolland CT. Audrey also leaves behind 7 cherished grandchildren, Lauren Setterlund, Daniel Dunn, Raymond, Emily, Jacob and Joshua Starvaski and Samantha Cochis and two great grandsons, Jaxson and Asher Setterlund.
She also leaves a sister Janice Jacobs of Chattanooga TN and many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her mother Antonette (Knight) Clemons, a brother Harry Flagg and a sister Wendy Fitzpatrick Esquer.
Audrey was born in Winchendon Ma, moving to Worcester as a young girl where she lived throughout her life. Audrey attended grammar school at St Paul’s Cathedral and graduated from St Peters High School in I959. After raising her children Audrey embarked on a banking career at First Federal Savings in Worcester and retired as a Manager and Loan officer at Northeast Savings Bank. Audrey’s favorite part of her work at the bank was the wonderful coworkers who became lifelong friends. After retirement Audrey enjoyed working at the Basket Case in West Boylston for several years.
Prior to her illness Audrey and her husband enjoyed many years of traveling together and “escaping” to Naples Florida for the winter. Audrey enjoyed summers in Rhode Island with her family. She loved to entertain, a fantastic cook and hostess. Her wide circle of friends enjoyed her hospitality and her outgoing and fun loving personality.
A wake is scheduled for Monday, January 23, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln Street in Worcester. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church 570 Lincoln St. Worcester. Burial will be held at a later date.
